Will you even proceed with a friendship/relationship with someone if your first impression of them is bad? Do you give second chances?
There is evidence from psychological studies that people form first impressions in as little as 2 seconds. An impression that is formed that quickly is not the result of conscious thought but of more primitive brain processes. I try and be mindful of that and keep an open mind.
Are first impressions really that important after you get to know a person?

Let’s say you meet someone and your first impression on them makes them think you are weird.
After they get to know you, you become good friends. Do you think your first impression is still important now? Or does your friend not really judge you on the past anymore?
