i am just asking as base on curiosity…i've read this in wikipedia…it is purportedly based on real events…..some of you might have been to forums or might even know the true anser to this question:
is densha otoko this really based on true events, or was it just a novel?

I'm not sure, but it probably was a true story, though parts were probably altered and exaggerated to create more drama??? The line lower down on the wikipedia page says that it hasn't been proven whether it's authentic or not, so I guess we'll never know… >___< I think there was a novel/manga etc. based off of the supposed real story, it could have branched off something fiction though.

Im taking Japanese Film as a fun elective and I am assigned to write a compare and contrast film on this particular film. I am not familiar with any Japanese Film so can anyone suggest one. Greatly appreciated
Battle Royale is an excellent film, I agree. You might look at some of the Akira Kurosawa films. Rashomon is one of the best of his films.

There is this scene where Densha Otoko was on his first date with Hermes and he asked how many square meters her house is. I can’t get it out of my head. I thought that was a weird question to ask a girl especially on a first date. I know it is just a movie but…. Is that a common thing to ask on a date in Japan? Why would anyone ask the size of one’s house?
Hmm… k, still weird if that is the first thing that pops out into your head on a first date. To think he was reading from his PDA when he asked that. ^_^"
